A free word finder for Wordle, Scrabble and Words With Friends players.
5 Letter Words is a search tool for five-letter words, built for Wordle, Scrabble and Words With Friends players. Lock letters into a known position, mark letters that are in the word but not placed, exclude letters you've ruled out, or search a pattern like C_A_E. All four filters work together in one view, not as separate tabs.
The tool currently searches 12,974 five-letter words, 2,315 of which are real past Wordle answers. Results show each word's Scrabble point value and flag likely plurals so you can hide them.
There's also a daily challenge: one word a day, the same for everyone, with a streak counter, a personal-best tracker and a share button.
The word list is built from word-list, an open-source, MIT-licensed English word list published on npm. It is part of a larger set of 192,730 words from three to ten letters long.
It is not the official New York Times Wordle dictionary, Hasbro's Scrabble tournament word lists (TWL or SOWPODS), or Zynga's Words With Friends dictionary, and this site makes no claim to be any of those. Words are cross-checked against a public list of past Wordle answers to flag which results have actually been used as solutions.
